Cervical Herniation and Nerve Compression — Why Surgery Often Fails to Cure

Pain and numbness from cervical herniation. Many people think, "The herniation is protruding and compressing the nerve, so cutting it out will make it better," and choose surgery.

Certainly, removing the protruding disc might temporarily reduce nerve compression and alleviate pain. However, this doesn't address the root cause.

The Real Cause is "Loss of Cervical Curvature"

When the proper curve of the neck (cervical curvature) is lost, excessive pressure is placed on the intervertebral discs, which in turn compresses the nerves. In other words, simply removing the protruding portion makes recurrence or problems in other areas likely to occur.

What SBM Teaches

This is where the SBM (Self Body Make) approach I advocate comes in. Restoring the proper cervical curvature—this is the only path to fundamental resolution.

What people suffering from herniation symptoms need is not just removal, but "restoring the correct neck curvature."

If you think about it carefully, you should realize this is the natural answer.
