The Importance of Spinal Curvature

 The Importance of Spinal Curvature

Spinal curvature, also called the S-curve, is what we emphasize repeatedly.

The SBM pillow helps create curvature in both the lower back and neck.

Whether our bodies have "curvature" or not makes a complete difference.

Humans are bipedal creatures. An adult head weighs approximately 4-6kg, and we constantly live under the influence of gravity.

So, what would happen if there were no "natural curvature" in our lower back and neck?

Imagine this:

"If spinal curvature disappears..." → The body becomes like a single rigid rod.

A rod-like body directly absorbs the weight of the head and gravitational impact, resulting in strong pressure on the discs and nerves.

With curvature, the body flexes like a spring - supple and resilient.

The curvature creates a structure that supports the head's weight when walking, running, or standing, and effectively dissipates gravitational impact.

When this curvature is lost, it causes:

  • Lower back pain, herniated discs
  • Sciatica
  • Migraines, cervical spondylosis
