Online “Lying-Down SBM” Taster Session for Older Adults
To celebrate the UK’s National Self-Care Week, I am offering a special online taster session of SBM (Self Body Make)designed especially for older adults.
This session introduces gentle, lying-down movements that help reduce pain and restore healthy body alignment—safely and effectively.
Why SBM Is Ideal for Older Adults
Because SBM is performed lying down, it places very little stress on the body.
It is particularly suitable for people who experience:
Hip pain
Knee pain
Lower-back discomfort
Balance issues
Stiffness linked to ageing
The movements are simple, slow and safe — making it easy to continue long-term, even for those who have not exercised in years.
About This Online Taster Session
In standard SBM practice, we use the specialised SBM Pillow.
However, for this online experience, you can comfortably participate using a rolled bath towel as a “towel pillow”.
Important:
SBM cannot be performed correctly on a bed or soft mattress.
Please prepare a firm floor surface (wooden floor or carpet) where the correct angles can be created.
