Are You Taking Responsibility for Your Own Body?

Are You Taking Responsibility for Your Own Body?

Healing from a Herniated Disc Starts with Self-Awareness and Action

Have you ever asked yourself:

"Am I truly taking responsibility for my own body?"

If you're struggling with a herniated disc, lower back pain, or numbness, it’s easy to feel like you’re stuck waiting — waiting for an MRI, a diagnosis, a referral, or a surgery date.

But here's the truth:
Healing doesn’t begin with a hospital letter. It begins with you.

The Danger of Waiting Too Long

A client once told me:

“I waited 18 months for the NHS to schedule an MRI. Then I had to wait another 14 months for surgery. All that time, I worried about permanent nerve damage.”

In total, that’s over 32 months of waiting.
And while their surgery was ultimately successful, not everyone is so fortunate. Long-term nerve compression can lead to irreversible damage.

That’s why taking action early is critical.

Healing Without Surgery: The SBM Approach

In my practice, I teach a method called SBM – Self Body Make. It’s a natural, structured way to help people with herniated discs rebuild their spine, reduce pain, and take control of their recovery.

One client came to me with no natural curve in their lower back — just a straight, stiff spine.
At first, even 10 minutes of gentle movement caused pain. But they didn’t give up. Through consistent SBM practice 60min every day and support from our group, they stayed committed.

Four months later, they shared this:

“My lower back pain is gone. I feel better. Now, I’ve started to feel some discomfort in my neck.”

Strange as it sounds, this is a sign of progress.
Once one part of the body starts healing, it often uncovers tension or imbalance in other areas. Healing is not always linear, but it is real.

Self-Care Isn’t Optional. It’s Essential.

You can’t delegate your health. You can’t outsource your recovery.
Whether or not you choose surgery, your body still needs your help.

That means:

  • Learning the right movements

  • Creating the right environment

  • Staying consistent

  • Believing that healing is possible

So I’ll ask you again:

Are you taking responsibility for your own body?

If you're ready to stop waiting and start healing, I’m here to help.
