To Those Suffering from Herniated Discs

Thank you for visiting my blog.

In UK social media support groups for herniated discs and nerve compression, we frequently see messages like these:

"One-year waiting list for specialist referral"

"Don't know how to cope during the long waiting period"

"Are there any alternative treatments?"

To those diagnosed with herniated discs,

To those wondering if surgery is inevitable,

To those feeling helpless when painkillers and nerve block injections aren't working,

To those who can't manage household chores with young children, struggle at work, can't drive, or can barely work at all...

I have seen many such heartfelt cries from people suffering from the pain and numbness of herniated discs.

Before discovering "a certain exercise," I too experienced being unable to walk due to spondylolysis, enduring pain while wearing a back brace.

In the medical field, there are many books about pain and numbness caused by herniated discs and spinal stenosis.

There are books by physicians introducing various treatment methods.

Treatments range from surgery to conservative therapies, medication, exercise, and electrical therapy.

This variety reflects just how many people suffer from back pain.

I am not a medical professional.

In London, I teach Self Body Make (SBM) - an exercise method based on the principle "build your own body" = "heal your own body."

Our first client at the London school suffered from lumbar herniated disc but recovered enough to return to work after about six months.

Ms. Yuriko, the head of our Tokyo school, overcame her own herniated disc through SBM, and it was because I heard her experience that I felt confident in accepting clients.

I myself had difficulty walking due to spondylolysis in my second year of junior high school and was forced to wear a back brace.

I personally know the hardship of being unable to walk.

That's why I have a special connection to back pain and herniated discs. variety reflects just how many people suffer from back pain.
